Seeing Voices fue concebida por el compositor, arreglista y orquestador Sidney Fine con dos pianos, un bajo acústico y un pequeño coro. Fine pidió al Rey del Pop que interpretase la parte vocal de la pista, mientras que Matt Forger fue el ingeniero de sonido que grabó la misma (conocía a Fine y Jackson desde hace tiempo y éste los presentó).
Una
vez que Michael grabó su parte, le dijo a Fine que le encantaba la canción,
pero pidió que se añadiesen instrumentos de cuerda a la pista.
